How to access root container?

Hi,

I'd like to access the root container from any subcontainer. Is there a way to do that? I am now using this approach:

def _get_root(container):
    while getattr(container, "parent"):
        container = container.parent
    return container

But passing in __self__ into my application and then do the lookup there feels not good. I'd prefer to keep the DI
system out of my application.

What I am actually looking for is a way to inject the root container into all or some child containers so that I would be able to something like this (imagine bounded contexts in DDD) in Adapter1:

class Adapter1:
    def __init__(self, *, upstream)
        self._upstream = upstream

    def get(self):
        return [1]


class Adapter2:
    def get(self):
        return [2]


class Adapters1(containers.DeclarativeContainer):
    # What to do here?
    application = ... 
    a1: Adapter1 = providers.Factory(Adapter1, upstream=application.upstream)


class Adapters2(containers.DeclarativeContainer):
    a2: Adapter1 = providers.Singleton(Adapter2)


class DownstreamContext(containers.DeclarativeContainer):
    adapters: Adapters1 = providers.Container(Adapters1)


class UpstreamContext(containers.DeclarativeContainer):
    adapters: Adapters2 = providers.Container(Adapters2)


class Application(containers.DeclarativeContainer):
    downstream: DownstreamContext = providers.Container(DownstreamContext)
    upstream: UpstreamContext = providers.Container(UpstreamContext)
