The TIP Discussion Forum is the place to propose, discuss and debate ideas to improve the whole IOTA technology stack.

Well supported ideas will turn into formalized TIPs. Read more about the TIP process in TIP-1.

• Share your ideas in the Ideas category.
• Before submitting an idea, make sure that you browse past discussions. Someone might have already proposed a similar idea.
• Engage in discussions and share your thoughts about others' ideas. We are here to collaborate and to build something together!
• Be mindful and treat everyone with respect.
• Evaluate ideas with critical thinking, justify your arguments instead of passing on judgement.
• Upvote ideas you like to help others cut through the noise.

Good to know

• You can always reach out to TIP Editors to help you transform your idea into a formalized draft TIP.
• TIPs may concern all areas of the IOTA technology stack, not just the core protocol. TIPs can can be about for example:
  • Second layer protocols built on top of the Tangle, like smart contracts.
  • Application level conventions or standards, like a Token Standard for ISC chains.
  • Client APIs or interface definitions,
  • Informational, educational content about any aspect of IOTA.
