Hello!

The Ringtone of the linphone client is way too loud and i cant find a setting for it. Is there a way to reduce the volume of the ringtone only?

OS: Linux
Version: 4.4.8

Hi
No there is not. Ringtone is coming from the system sound level.

Sound Level of Microphone and Headphones too and there still is a setting for it. Please implement one, since the default ringtone busts your ear on linux. The only option to make it quieter is to call yourself whil having the linux sound settings open. And regulating it there on the new setting you can only see, when the ringtone is active.

A workaround is to find/edit a ringtone you like and export it (eg in Audacity) as a WAV with PCM signed 16bit little endian encoding. Then set it as your custom Ring file in Settings > Audio > Audio Parameters.

Gleaned this from the helpful people who contributed comments to the closed issue #248 .
