I downloaded the software and everything works as intended on a Linux Mint 22 Wilma VM. I was able to extract and somewhat patch the firmware, but i have a few questions to ask.
How do you disable deinterlacing on the MS2106? I looked at the issues and the repo, couldn't find a guide how (or at least that's what i think) and neither i found anything about it on Google or Baidu. What values should i change on the code and on which region should i apply it to?
Is there any way to tweak the video resolutions or framerates on Motion Jpeg and YUV2, like changing the resolution to 720×576 or 768×576 or the bitrate on MJPEG;
Is there a way to make the device instead of outputting 96 khz Mono audio to output 48 khz Stereo to the computer? I am pretty sure the schematics said it supports stereo audio, but i cannot get my PCs to get stereo audio from the device.
I somehow managed to get it to show image controls on the UVC video settings, but after some flashing, i lost the options. How do you get these options back? That was on OBS and VirtualDub, using Windows 10 as the main os.
The device won't work on a B550 motherboard for some reason. The most recent device i was able to get the Easycap working was with my nearly 5 year old AMD Ryzen 5 3550H laptop. What makes it incompatible with newer PCs, like ones from 2020 despite it using the generic camera and audio drivers?
The device in question is an Easycap device with the Macrosilicon MS2106 chip. Below is an image with its regions.
That's all. I apologize if it's long, i wanted to include as much info as possible.
P.S. Would your firmware for the MS2106 be uploaded? And what tweaks does it have if it has any?
