Following the discussion with @DaveBarton

Provide some unsafe wrappers / unwrappers.
Provide helpers for common operations: snoc, unsnoc, monicize (multiply by the inverse of the leading coefficient, which is required to be a unit), and shift (like scale but the coef is 1).
