Display issue with dark mode in MIUI 12

A user running Android 10 with MIUI 12.0.3 has reported an issue when enabling dark mode. In particular, the weather report shows as black text on a dark grey background and has become unreadable:

The issue seems limited to text that is selectable. Other text in the same view works fine (e.g. the headers and the first line on top), and other text in the 'About' screen also works fine. An older version of the app also works fine, so the most likely cause for this issue is this commit: 0f4bbd7

I could not reproduce this issue on a regular Android 10 phone with dark mode enabled (background remains white and text remains black), so my guess is that this is a bug in the automatic dark mode of MIUI. Still it would be good to find a way around it.
