Compactness is good, but leaving enough space for heat rejection, reparability, and upgradeability is king.
Assume that we will have a forward-facing camera in the tube looking through the front acrylic and a downward-facing camera looking through the tube.
Look at the aqua-squatch_alpha branch for inspiration on the caps
Need to include enough holes for all the necessary electronics, tether holes need to be central to the cap and close
together. Assume all holes are for fitting an M10 passthrough.
Tether Power +/- (2)
Tether Ethernet (1)
Tether Spare (1)
Thrusters (8)
30 16-18AWG wires (Minimum number of Passthruss, ~6)
USB/Ethernet Devices (4)
Sensors (2)
Potential expansion (5)
If space is limited, these can be unincluded as necessary
Front cap will need an additional plate designed that will hook the front of the tube into the frame
In general, assume that the backplate/cap will be permanently attached to the frame and the electronics
The rest of the tube and front cap should be able to slide off the electronics so that we can work on the electronics in place.
Removes the need for as many connectors.
We have LOTS of fasteners. Please check team/club inventory first for fasteners (we may have something that will at least work).
