HotDog! Tutorial - Problem with serving with "dx serve --platform android" - failing to build OpenSSL (I think)

Hello, I'm new to Dioxus and I'm working my way through the HotDog! Tutorial here: https://dioxuslabs.com/learn/0.6/guide/bundle#

I'm getting an error that seems like it is related to OpenSSL. I have the following in my Cargo.toml as instructed:

The error I'm getting is this:

Any ideas what might be the issue. I've been unable to get anything more meaningful for an error message even if I turn on trace-level logging and rebuild.

So, far Dioxus seems really great, but, this has me stuck.

I had exactly the same problem. This should maybe solve your issue: OpenSSL issue.

The issue is still present in Dioxus 0.6.3, I hope they will remove it soon. For me at least the solution in the issue worked but not the database integration with rusqlite. The dogs are not stored in the DB and I cannot access the stored dogs on Android.

I have all of the rusqlite stuff working just fine. If you want to post your code, I'd be happy to compare to mine (or vice-versa).

I still can't get either the OpenSSL nor the Rustls option to work with reqwest for Android deployment (to simulator). OpenSSL just simply will not build. Rustls option builds, deploys, and then crashes the App in Android as soon as it tries to make an HTTPS call. I'd love to hear of anything you did to make this work for you.
