When I create a new file that is unsupported by Intellij, this dialog shows up:
As you can see, it offers to associate the file with an external editor (like Document Archiver does by default) but also offers to "force" the unknown file to be handled as one of the known file-types.
It would be useful, because if I have a text file that has no extension or an unknown extension, I could still open that file as a text file and don't have to jump to an external editor.
