Currently, fabric adds the little /Fabric to the title screen by setting --versionType on the command line. Unfortunately, this was only added in 1.9, which leaves versions 1.3-1.8 (legacy fabric's target) to resort to other means. Currently, this is done by adding the branding through legacy fabric api.

I think its out of sope for loader to be making changes like this. Its best done as a mod.
