Since witness data isn't signed over, it's not possible to charge the end user: the block proposer could just add a bunch of witness data. One possibility is charging the block producer for witness data. That would make them factor in the cost of witness data for honest transactions when computing the total fee they would earn. Can you perhaps open an issue in the specs repo to discuss this? |
