Trial Accounts have been in the NEAR for a while and are developed by Keypom. A trial account lets you use a dApp on Near without the complex wallet onboarding flow. It is a one click login, no passphrase writing needed. It comes filled with some tokens for your app usage. App developers can write a bunch of configuration for their usecases for the Trial account.

Although Trial Accounts have been around for sometime. It is a still a huge challenge for developers to integrate them in their userflow. Harmonic Guild is building a Production Handbook to solve this problem. The handbook consists of code examples, backend services, a frontend app and documentation to solve this problem. We hope that teams should be able to use this handbook to explore and use trial accounts. This handbook is built on top of the great work done by NearBuilders .

Here is a link to the Gov post for the proposal.

This issue is to track the overall main deliverables of this build.

  • Bos App for dev teams/individuals to configure Trial Accounts Keypom drop. - Repo
  • A backend(centralised) service for teams to distribute the airdrops. (Airdrops that give you access to the Trial Account.) - Repo
  • Javascript scripts to interact with Keypom contract for internal utilities, testing etc.
  • Documentation of how teams can use all the above resources for their integration. Deployment guide to cloud.

Pending: I will link specific repos for first three deliverables. We will use this repo for documentation for the overall flow which is the 4th deliverable.
