AmhOCR hangs

I am an experienced user of professional OCR packages, such as ABBYY, Omnipage and Iris.

I am using AmhOCR Release 1.0.0 on WIn 10 Home, 64 bits.
IINW AmhOCR is also capable of auto-detecting the page layout (blocks on text, image and table) and do the OCR accordingly.

But I am unable to use AmhOCR at all: It is able to open image and pdf files. In case of pdf file, it shows thumbnails of all pages. But apart from that, it does not show any OCR function.

For example, it does not detect text/picture/table types of blocks and draw them on the pages.

If I press Run OCR button, it throws an error.
