It appears that the -H and -V flags are thoroughly broken. -H does not appear to do anything and -V seems to offset a little bit vertically and mostly horizontally.

I'm not sure what is happening with this but some localizations may not work well anymore since offsets are required to make sure the text fits on the screen.

I might take a closer look at some point and try to fix it, but it has been some time since I have looked at the code responsible for this function.

upon further investigation, it appears that the -x and -y flags show the desired behavior and should be used instead. I think removing the -H and -V flags would be best for user experience.
