Description of the issue

I would like to have a representation for specific values of costs and energy consumption i.e. currency per pkm/tkm/100 km/passenger and energy unit per pkm/tkm/100 km/passenger.

Is there a good way to represent that with the current terms in the ontology?

If not, I propose to include the specific values as new classes.

Ideas of solution

specific cost: A specific cost is a cost that is calculated by dividing the total considered costs through the quantity value of interest.
specific currency unit: A specific currency unit relates currency to another unit.

  • currency per pkm: Currency per pkm is a specific currency unit that relates currency to passenger-kilometre.
  • currency per tkm: Currency per tkm is a specific currency unit that relates currency to ton-kilometre.
  • currency per 100 km: Currency per 100 km is a specific currency unit that relates currency to 100 kilometer.
  • currency per passenger: Currency per passenger is a specific currency unit that relates currency to the number of passengers.

specific energy consumption: A specific energy consumption is an energy consumption value that is calculated by dividing the total considered energy consumption through the quantity value of interest.
specific energy unit: A specific energy unit relates an energy unit to another unit.

  • energy per pkm: Energy per pkm is a specific energy unit that relates energy to passenger-kilometre.
  • energy per tkm: Energy per tkm is a specific energy unit that relates energy to ton-kilometre.
  • energy per 100 km: Energy per 100 km is a specific energy unit that relates energy to 100 kilometer.
  • energy per passenger: Energy per passenger is a specific energy unit that relates energy to the number of passengers.

Perhaps it is better to include the values at the quantity value level instead of the unit level (or both). That would be cost per X is a specific cost that.. and energy consumption per X is a specific energy consumption that....

I am open for any suggestions.

Workflow checklist

  • I discussed the issue with someone else than me before working on a solution
  • I already read the latest version of the workflow for this repository
  • The goal of this ontology is clear to me

I am aware that

  • every entry in the ontology should have a definition
  • classes should arise from concepts rather than from words
