That is absolutly correct, if im correct, this file will also not be saved in mod-packs. Also an editor for this file (and/or the old json-version) would be great. When i have more time, i will look into this feature. |
however the online uploader says only .zip files no .dat files |
The uploader only can upload mods. All mods are in a zip-file. The uploader automatically generates and updates the mods-list.json file. Its not supposed to upload any other file. With direct upload, i ment, to upload it into the factorio-mods-folder, via (s)ftp. |
having a way to upload the mod settings or edit it via the gui would be good.. Currently scp'ing the mod-settings file from my pc once i've made changes to the server is a chore :D |
Maybe this node package can be useful for somebody looking to implement this feature. Factorio Mod Settings |
In the PR i have opened, this feature is implemented! BUT ... by some absolute insanity, the tests for it sometimes fails, for no reason, so this is not yet merged :( |
This is the feature request issue that is part of a milestone, please don't randomly close it. |
I closed it because it is 5+ years old with no comments in 3+ years |
There's no place to upload the mod-settings.dat file for the server to use if you're using changed configs like restack saves it's startup configs in the mod-settings.dat file.
