Connmanctl is used by beaglebone-wifi and seems to be a bit more well maintained than the simple python script we are currently using.

If we can eliminate some of the weird edge cases of the current AP software it would improve the QOS quite a bit. If you look at the repo with the beaglebone-wifi installation and setup scripts you can see how they did it. You can also see how they used to use create_ap and other similar tools. The author doesn't do commit messages or documentation, but it's there.
