What would you like to know?

People did custom Splatfests before (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSPR3B893GY ) and there was already the one Pretendo did so I'm genuinely curious as to why theres being struggles with developing them?

The feedback from the last Pretendo Splatfest (mid-2023) was that matchmaking was extremely unstable, people were unhappy that the results were not tracked, and Juxt in-game being flaky really detracted from the experience.

Since then, there has been substantial improvements in the backend that make matchmaking work much better (host migration etc.) but Fest matchmaking support was lost in the wash. We were working to implement it, but other issues like #12 are taking priority.

There are multiple fest themes ready to go both from our in-house developers and external groups like Splatfestival, but since the server just doesn't work for Fests, there's no point running any of them yet.
