Self Defense

Self Defense is a timed status effect.

A timer is started when the assailant deals damage (15s), shoots near (10s) or pushes (5s) the target.

Detectives and Traitors never trigger this timer when damaging / shooting near / pushing target players.

Damaging someone during the Self Defense window subtracts no Karma and killing them awards no points nor leaves behind any DNA.

Freekill

Freekill is a situational status effect.

When an innocent kills someone on their own team, as long as it wasn't in Self Defense and the target wasn't marked as Freekill, the assailant then becomes marked as Freekill.

Additionally, any innocent currently holding a Traitor weapon will have the Freekill status.

Traitors will never have the Freekill status for any reason.

Damaging someone who is marked as Freekill subtracts no Karma and killing them awards no points nor leaves behind any DNA.
