Explanation
First boot up
The game boots up fines, although some audio distortion can be heard from the tiles in the UI, along with miniscule visual glitches.
After that, the game works mostly fine. I'm pretty sure this is a time-based thing, so letting it sit would probably eventually crash it.
Playing the game
The game seems perfectly fine, until after a minute or two goes by, which is when the game starts to freeze and glitch. This is usually minor.
5 minutes in
This is when full freezes for at least a second start. The notorious Source sound loop also plays during these periods.
After 30 seconds, full freezes of upward of 10 seconds happen.
Crash
Then, it crashes, silent, instant, no error crash. After this, some parts of the engine stay open, meaning that Portal 2 can no longer re boot until a restart. I don't know why this happens.
How to Replicate
This crash happens every time I open Portal 2, so I don't know where it originated from. It also usually comes and goes, usually for about a 1 week. Which means, I don't know how this could be replicated.
Summary
Game opens fine.
Minor bugs at the beginning.
Glitches get worse over time.
Full freezing begins.
Crash.
Background processes are still open, forced to restart.

Game slows with 1 second freezes, and gets more the more I play, until it crashes with no error, and some processes still running.
Computer information
Note
This takes place on Windows 11, using a fresh install of Portal 2.
!!!! UPDATE: Game only starts to lag when I boot up puzzlemaker. !!!!
This is my system specifications, pulled from Steam.
