How to specify auto_scale now?

I previously had >> [auto_scale]: true at the top of my file, which enabled auto scaling for my recipes. I was warned about converting to using front matter, so now I do that, but I can't seem to get this to work. What I've tried:

1. Putting [auto_scale]: true into front matter, which results in recipe failing to parse, with:

Error: Invalid metadata entry
Help: Metadata key is not a string

2. Putting auto_scale: true into front matter, which results in no errors or warnings, but nothing scales.
3. Putting either of the above outside of the front matter, which results in no errors or warnings, but nothing scales.

Is there a correct way to enable this functionality now?

Welp, I mis-read the changelog. You leave line as-is, with >> outside the block.
