Keyboard Shortcut Ideas

This thread is for collecting suggestions and noting inconsistencies with keyboard shortcuts in menus and dialogs, across all of the components of Apple II DeskTop, including DeskTop, Disk Copy, Shortcuts, and accessories.

1. As referenced in issue Apple-W should close the Message screen saver #820, Apple-W should close the Message screen saver.

2. As referenced in issue Apple-W should also quit Disk Copy in addition to Apple-Q #821, Apple-W should also quit Disk Copy in addition to Apple-Q.

3. As referenced in issue Apple-Q should also close all desk accessories in addition to Esc and Apple-W #822, Apple-Q should also close all desk accessories in addition to Esc and Apple-W.

4. As referenced in issue Apple-Q and Apple-W should also launch Apple II DeskTop from the Selector module in addition to the letter D #823, Apple-Q and Apple-W should also launch Apple II DeskTop from the Selector module in addition to the letter D if the Apple II DeskTop module is available to launch Apple II DeskTop. Also, add a Quit menu command to the File menu of the Selector module with an Apple-Q keypress keyboard shortcut to launch Apple II DeskTop if the Apple II DeskTop module is available to launch Apple II DeskTop. The Quit menu command should not appear at all in the File menu if the Apple II DeskTop module is not available to launch Apple II DeskTop.

5. As referenced in issue Add an Apple-period(.) keypress keyboard shortcut #824, add an Apple-period(.) keypress keyboard shortcut to the boot / startup launcher, Apple II DeskTop, Disk Copy, the Selector module and all desk accessories. Apple-period(.) should be used to cancel any and all operations and any and all other functions of the Esc key to the extent that Command-period(.) is used in modern macOS in addition to the Esc key.
