[Embed] Instagram response JsonParseException: Unexpected character

Bug Report

Current Behavior
When trying to use the Embed component to add a Instagram post when configuring the dialog field URL with the Instagram post https://www.instagram.com/p/CQL9790BHsM/, has an example, the field always comes up has wrong and not a supported URL.

Expected behavior/code
When using the Embed component to add a Instagram post when configuring the dialog field URL with the Instagram post https://www.instagram.com/p/CQL9790BHsM/, has an example, the field should be valid and when saved the Instagram post should appear on the page.

Environment

• Adobe Experience Manager (6.5.8.0)
• Core Components version 2.11.1
• Corretto 11.0.10

The url is considered invalid, and this is because during the validation the response from instagram is unexpected:

Hello,
I have still the issue, that a instgram post produce the same error, like mentioned in the ticket. I used core components 2.17.0 provided by Cloud SDK 2021.6.5586.20210628T210726Z-210600.
Following URL is used https://www.instagram.com/p/CQx2xxPKPdL/.
The oEmbed json URL for this post looks alright: https://api.instagram.com/oembed/?url=https://www.instagram.com/p/CQx2xxPKPdL/&format=json

Did some more testing/debugging with different AEM versions (6.5.9, SDK , AEMaaCS) and was able to reproduce the error. The error above indicates that instead of the JSON you got an HTML error message back with HTTP Status 429 "Too many requests".

I assume you are using the default endpoint example config for Instagram defined here:

The endpoint URL https://api.instagram.com/oembed is deprecated since October 2020. Looks like they are now limiting/denying access by sending back HTTP Status 429.

The replacement mentioned in the above link (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/instagram/oembed) has a different endpoint URL and requires you to get an access token.

We need to first create a developer account on Facebook developer site [https://developers.facebook.com/].
Then after generating an app key, we need to follow the following steps:

1. Go to the dashboard and create an app clicking on “Create App” button. Detail of the create app form options given here. https://developers.facebook.com/docs/development/create-an-app
2. Fill in all the required information and create an app. The “app” would be the “Instagram oEmbed Read” feature. Here is the reference doc: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/instagram/oembed/
3. Now go to setting from dashboard >> basic. Here from the top right option app secret click on show and copy the secret key.
4. Now, go to the advance section of the settings copy the client token.
5. Replace the endpoint in embed Instagram configuration in AEM config manager. Endpoint will be https://graph.facebook.com/v11.0/instagram_oembed?access_token= [App Secret] %7C [Client Token]

The access token will be a combination of app secret key and client token separated with Pipe or vertical character | encode of that is %7C.
access_token= [App Secret] %7C [Client Token]

Note: Your app should be approved by Facebook to use the embed comp for Instagram.
