Yes, I agree. I have created a new branch implementing this:

exclude_localhost

I am no longer using picoCMS, so if you care to test this so I can merge it to the master branch.

Didn't work (still returns an HTTP error 500).

Maybe you should consider that Pico could be in a sub-folder? Something like this:

http://localhost/path/to/pico/
