Funds Manager

Overview

Funds Manager is a personal finance management system built using Flask, HTML, CSS, and Python. It allows users to store and track financial data for themselves and their family members. Users can record balances in various financial accounts, including:

  • Bank accounts
  • Mutual funds
  • Savings accounts
  • Employee Provident Fund (EPF)
  • Public Provident Fund (PPF)
  • National Pension Scheme (NPS) (if applicable)

The system enables users to maintain records over multiple years, add new years as needed, and track both individual and total family finances.

Installation and Setup

1. Clone the Repository

To download the project from GitHub, open a terminal and run:

git clone https://github.com/anushkasharma2005/Funds-Manager.git
cd Funds-Manager

2.Install Dependencies

Ensure you have Python installed, then install the required packages:

pip install -r requirements.txt

3. Create the Database

Before running the application, set up the database by executing:

python database.py

This will create the necessary database file for storing user data.

4. Run the Application

Start the Flask application with:

python app.py

The application will run locally at: http://127.0.0.1:5000/

5.Open in an Editor

You can open the project in an editor like VS Code by navigating to the project folder and running:

code .

Future Enhancements

  • User authentication for secure access
  • Better UI.
