Dublin core metadata fields for describing research software

Hi all, not sure how many librarians are part of this discussion forum. We're reviewing our research software descriptive metadata within our institutional repository and I've not really found many institutions who are using dc fields for software-specific metadata (programming language, dependencies, version, etc). Curious whether anyone knows of any guides related to research software description using dublin core, or can point to an exemplar institution? There are a lot of examples and guides for citing software, but the descriptive metadata is the basis of this and thus far I'm not finding much.
