EDIT: Onda definitely allows images/video in whatever signal formats are desirable at this point; this issue is now just a matter of supporting multidimensional channels/samples from a LPCM representation/data modeling perspective.
Let's say I wanted to load an image from an Onda dataset via a compliant Onda front-end; in that case, the existing LPCM specification technically suffices but is a bit underspecific to really enforce support for a few desirable features. For example, it would be cool if my signal could have 3 channels (r, g and b) where each sample per channel is actually a matrix. In the future, we could expand Onda to officially support this by allowing users to specify sample shape per channel (as well as providing a canonical planar representation - see #94).
