USAGE:

Run with java -cp .. DataCompression.tests.<task> <filename>
e.g java -cp .. DataCompression.tests.TestEntropy

tests/
tests/TestAnalysis.java
tests/TestEntropy.java

Contains the programs for the following tasks:
* Perform simple statistics
* Compute entropy

util/
util/FileReader.java

Parses the command line: If filename is given an InputStream for that file is returned, else the stdin is read into a temporary file for which the InputStream is given. (To allow multiple sweeps over the input)

tools/SimpleAnalysis.java

Does simple analysis of the input. Counts bytes etc.

tools/Entropy.java

Computes the entropy using SimpleAnalysis
