New tabs on tab bar become invisible after a X number of tabs. #15315
Comments
It's been doing this for me as well. Didn't have the issue on 1.22.70. |
I'd really love to see a better way to manage large numbers of tabs, as I run into this constantly. Safari and Firefox have scrollable tab bars, and Edge has vertical tabs, which are all at least marginally better. |
We did capture #35 for the idea of Tab Pages. We had this in the older Electron/Muon based version of Brave and it was pretty cool 😄 |
Has this issue been fixed yet on the newer versions of Brave? |
No, still happening on latest stable version. |
As a workaround until this is fixed, I've been able to get a scrollable tab bar by enabling the scrollable tabstrip flag at |
The issue still persists
This workaround is now partly broken, there are no longer any arrows on the left and the right of the tab bar, so you need to CTRL+TAB to switch to tabs currently not in view. |
This is still an issue on the latest 1.61.116 unfortunately. |
Description
When 87 tabs are open, every new tab that is opened is not visible on the tab bar, even when switching to those new tabs with CTLR+TAB. My display is 1680x1050 pixels.
Steps to Reproduce
Actual result:
New tabs are actually added to the right, so tab switching to new tab is possible with CTRL+TAB, but they are not visible on tab bar and thus also not selectable on tab bar.
Expected result:
When more tabs are opened, tabs on tab bar should become smaller and smaller, so all tabs fit on the tab bar and are not invisible.
Reproduces how often:
Always

Version/Channel Information:
Haven´t installed other channels. I also suspect the issue already exists longer. It also existed with previous current release, though not sure how long before that.
Other Additional Information:

Don't have Chrome installed, and no intention to do so, sorry.
Miscellaneous Information:
Only 2 extensions are installed, HTTPS Everywhere and uBlock Origin. Disabling them does not resolve the issue.
