Hi, I didn't want to distract on the main calamares repository, and this is merely a friendly suggestion to be helpful. My suggestion is to consider a gradual transition to slint.

slint also uses Rust, which is a productive memory safe language (as I am sure that you know). And slint integrates with QT.

Slint also covers mobile. I leave this as a suggestion. Not starting a discussion etc. :-)
