Problem you would like to solve

When an expanded ad-hoc subprocess doesn't have any other modifiers applied (e.g. multi-instance), the ~ mark is not in the center of the element.

Proposed solution

Center it and make sure it can coexist with other markers.

Alternatives considered

Keep people with signs of OCD frustrated.
