Dotfiles documentation

The goal of this dotfiles repository is to provide an easy way to install your personal setup onto a new system.

External Dependencies

The installation script works out of the box and has no external dependencies. NOTE: On MacOS the package manager brew has to be installed first.

Installation

The installation of the dotfiles can be started automatically by executing the install-dotfiles.sh script. The script first tries to install the packages that are listed at the top of the script via the package manager of the host system. As a second step all the software gets installed that is not available via a package manager.

Installation via package manager

NOTE: Some packages might not be available on every package manager. This script was tested on Fedora.

Additional installations

The additional software will be downloaded via curl and installed with their own provided bash scripts.
