Sounds good to me. There are two separate things to do here:

  1. Learn how to make tabsets in a Shiny app
  2. Create a map where data is mapped to color (or maybe we put little pie charts over each county?)

We can work on these independently. A good first step is to use ggplot2 to mock up the kind of map you'd like to see with an example filtered dataset.
