This isn't an issue but I'm not sure where to ask...
Would it be possible to use a DE10-Nano (or other FPGA) to simulate the SN76489 and then connect to an MCU (ie. Arduino) to send commands and playback through an amplifier?
I don't have FPGA experience but I have an idea that is making me motivated to learn...
For example, Arduino -> FPGA (w/sn76489 core) -> DAC -> Amplifier -> Speakers to create a music player for sn76489 VGM files, etc.
Can anybody point me in the right direction or would this still require a huge amount of effort/learning?
