FTPS behind TLS-terminating proxy: possible?

I wanted to ask if it is pricipally possible to set up FTPS with SFTPGo behind nginx, where nginx would be terminating TLS. My attempts at configuring this have been unsuccessful which is why I ask if this just isn't possible by design.
