Allowing users to save an analysis layout (and apply it to different traces) saves time since users avoid repeating configuration steps. Benefits:

Reuse configuration work
Share analysis results: Saving analysis layouts might be a prerequisite for being able to share a layout with others
Share expertise: Great layouts from trace analysis experts can be shared in the community.
Collect data for default layouts: After some time, if clusters are observed in analysis expert's layouts, some good default layouts could be defined based on expert layouts.
