I think this is a great publishing tool for things like this.

I was looking at Leanpub last night with their github integration: https://leanpub.com/help/getting_started_sync_github They have a sort of book store as well which is interesting. Erica Sandun recently published a book with Leanpub. I have looked and tested gitbook 2 years ago. I will look at it again and try to figure out the best way to publish pdf, ePub etc. You can also convert markdown to pdf via the atom.io text editor.

The Github release page has support for download count and binary file attachment. There is also this free service that creates a github shield/badge with download count. Could be worth checking out. I’ll try to find my notes on the workflow when I return after work today.

Packt found the book interesting, they want to know some more information: https://github.com/stylekit/img/blob/master/Book%20proposal-1.doc.doc Hardcopy would be pretty sweet. But I don't have time to make analysis and research right now. Deadlines at work are looming and I have to be responsible. I really want to though.
