Export to ORCID - not including DOI?

Am I right in thinking that the Export to ORCID does not include the DOI from the repository record as part of the metadata exported to ORCID?
Is there any particular reason for this?
If this is something that could be generally included, it would be helpful to handle the situation where DOIs are not necessarily stored in the id_number field, but to determine the field from a cfg variable.
