It took me a lot of duckduckgoing to figure out that you need to use rpm-ostree kargs rather than GRUB configuration files to modify kernel options. It would be useful to explain this in the official documentation.

I could contribute and create that article. However, I have two questions:

  • Where's the best place to put this information? There doesn't seem to exist an appropriate chapter in the current documentation. Should I create something like "System Administration"?

  • I only used the rpm-ostree kargs --append= command. What else should be added to the documentation?

I think that would be a fine section to include.

I think covering the --replace, --delete, and --editor options for the kargs command would be good to include.

You can follow this doc until this page is written in the Silverblue docs: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fedora-coreos/kernel-args/#_modifying_kernel_arguments_on_existing_systems
