I run Rocky Linux 9.3 and tried to install Flatcar for Qemu. I don't know a ton about Qemu/KVM but the first issue seems to be that the qemu-system-x86_64 executable which is referenced in the install script is depricated and replaced with qemu-kvm and is installed to this location: /usr/local/bin/qemu-kvm

Changing that let's me execute the script but only to get these errors:
qemu-kvm: warning: Machine type 'pc-i440fx-rhel7.6.0' is deprecated: machine types for previous major releases are deprecated
qemu-kvm: warning: CPU model qemu64-x86_64-cpu is deprecated -- use at least 'Nehalem' / 'Opteron_G4', or 'host' / 'max'

I'd be happy to look into this more when time permits but I wanted to create this issue in case others are also struggling.

Update: well, the obvious next step is to just to fix what it's calling out. pc-q35-5.2, host and so on but my initial attempt failed as I'm not very familiar with the parameters and config of Qemu.
