forwarding to server with hostname failing with connection timeout in Fluent Bit v1.8.7

I am using fluentbit 1.8.7 and seeing this error.

any clues ?

the same config with ip address in output plugin is working fine and forwarding logs to external server

I'm afraid 1.8 is wildly out of date and unsupported. My suggestion would be to use the latest 3.2.4 version and then share your configuration and infra details if it's still happening.
