Inline Markdown Issues

Current Behavior

Basic markdown formatting (bold, italics, code blocks) is not supported in course content. Also, the URL markdown is very buggy.

Examples of unsupported formatting:

• **bold text** does not render as bold text
• *italic text* does not render as italic text
• `code` does not render as code

Issues with Links

1. Links are not recognized when added in the line after the initial line break
2. Links are removed entirely when copying and pasting

Expected Behavior

• Basic markdown syntax should render correctly inline:

  i am *formatted* with **markdown** which makes students learning `experience` much better
  

  Should display as:
  i am formatted with markdown which makes students learning experience much better
