Momentarily the gluon-web packages for WLAN and network interfaces are not modular.
It should be possible to specify the functionality on a per VIF/network port basis.
Some parameters should be hardcoded like the mesh and client VIF SSID.
This should be possible to achieve with #1662, maybe with some modifications and generic WLAN/Network gluon-web packages that offer support for extensions.
How the packages do the process behind the scenes is of course another question.
For gluon-web they could specify additional interface types that can be selected and even additional options to interfaces by providing their own extensions.
Requests for which this is needed have come up quite often. See:
