I would like to link to a paragraph in a document, not just to headings. I imagine this is a pretty significant change, so I understand if you want to reject it.

Proposal:

  • Add a shortcut for creating new identifiers
  • Differentiate markdown for creating and linking identifiers
    • An identifier [definition](D^X7Nf^) could look like a link with a D in front of it

So a link head that's not in a Markdown heading. Hmmm.

How about [definition](#^X7NF^)? # is the heading character so this feels like a way to specify the link should be treated like a heading.
