Expunge Assist aims to help people in California with arrest and conviction histories clean their criminal record.
Expunge Assist (formerly known as The Record Clearance Project) initially was created to address recent clean slate efforts, such as Prop 47 and Prop 64, which paved the way for cleared records for cannabis and other non-violent and non-serious convictions. We use technology to create tools that address government and non-profit partner needs in a changing legal landscape.
Clearing your record can help remove barriers to getting a job, housing, and educational opportunities. Most misdemeanors and felonies are now eligible for expungement. Our goal is to make that process easier.
