6. Hardware

Introduction

In order to use ebusd with a heating system, a small hardware interface is necessary to read and write to the eBUS.

The following hardware interfaces are known to work with ebusd:

• self made:
  • Mikrocontroller.net: eBus USB Adapter
  • Prof. Dr. Peter A. Henning et al.: EBUSD-Interface USB
    For this physical converter, a USB to serial converter is necessary and I recommend using an FTDI chipset based one. Alternatively, a Ethernet to serial converter may be used as well (working in TCP or UDP mode).
• commercial:
  • E-Service GmbH: eBus Koppler USB

The state of the following interfaces is currently unknown:

• Mikrocontroller.net: ebus protokoll mitschnitt bei einem Wolf Heizkessel
• IP-Symcon: eBus Adapter Senden/Empfangen
• eBus Wiki: Fertige eBus Konverter
• E-Service GmbH: eBUS Koppler Ethernet
