Branding explained. And no, Customizer doesn't support full rebranding per se.

While remix has been explained separately, it is closely related to branding or the trademark policy. For Ubuntu, Canonical is the owner of the trademark.

Since mid-2013, the trademark policy is now referred to Intellectual property rights policy that has been published by Canonical Limited.

For users whom do remastering, the relevant text to know are these:

You can modify Ubuntu for personal or internal commercial use.

You can redistribute Ubuntu, but only where there has been no modification to it.

You can use our copyright, patent and design materials in accordance with this IPRights Policy.
