I am using wkhtmltopdf for pdf generation . What could be the issue ?

You should create an issue for the wkhtmltopdf project instead.

There are 900+ issues open: https://github.com/wkhtmltopdf/wkhtmltopdf/issues. It's unlikely a mermaid specific issue.
