Not 100% sure this is still relevant, but converting from a task:

There's currently a problem with the jest script-runner uses. So we added our own jest and changed the 'scripts'->'test' config in package.json to use it. Once they get that bug cleared up, revert to the original jestjs/jest#1767 (comment)
