Camera roll for other camera apps is broken

When I install Gcam Services Provider (Basic) in my Pixel 6a, running LineageOS 20, the camera roll button for other camera apps (not Gcam) breaks. If I click on it, it doesn't do anything, other than briefly blur the preview. Is this solvable?

thanks for reaching out. Can you please provide more details on how I can reproduce this issue? What Camera apps have you installed and are affected by this issue? What gallery apps are installed?

I don't have access to an LOS 20 device, could try an older LOS version when I got a couple of hours to look into this.

1. Open Aperture (the default camera app in LineageOS).
2. Click on the camera roll button.
3. It will take you to the gallery like usual.
4. Install Gcam Services Provider.
5. Open Aperture again.
6. Click on the camera roll button.
7. Nothing happens.

It works on Gcam only because I configured my gallery app for the camera roll, so it opens that when I click the camera roll button.

Thank you for the tutorial. This clarifies all possible misunderstandings from my side. As far as I know, Aperture is only included in LOS 20. So I currently have no access to it. I'll look into it as soon as I find time, but it may take a while.

Maybe someone would like to look into this, insights or even a pull request would be appreciated.

The same also happens with OpenCamera.
